Llandudno Food Event

This February, the massively popular, and leading north Wales catering event – Harlech Foodservice Expo is back. A number of well-known brand names will get together at Venue Cymru, Llandudno to showcase their produce.

Harlech Foodservice is an independent, family-owned and managed company which delivers a total Foodservice to the catering industry. They source local Welsh produce wherever possible, for its quality and taste, and most importantly to help support local businesses.

The Foodservice Expo is not open to the public, but is an opportunity for their customers, chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers, and other Foodservice industry professionals to meet their suppliers. This gives them the opportunity to discuss menu ideas, taste their new products, and be inspired from the products on show.

Last year, exhibitors included a range of national and international brands, including new suppliers such as Cornish cheesemakers Curds & Croust, Holy Cow sauces, and Doves Farm, specialists in gluten free ingredients. The event is now in its 42nd year, becoming a much anticipated occasion. It will be held for two days, on February 25th to 26th, at Venue Cymru, for the 6th year running.

Local producers include Snowdonia Cheese and Edwards Butchers.

Harlech Foodservice will also be showcasing their own brand of ice cream ‘Welsh Maid’. This was relaunched last year with a fresh new look. Recently, they’ve launched new flavours – including Butterscotch Crunch, Gluten Free Chocolate, and Unicorn, which is sure to be a hit with kids of all ages.

Dr. Oetker, the German baking brand will also be taking part in the event. They have revealed that they will be releasing a new range at this year’s expo. A spokesperson from Dr. Oetker has said that “we’re really excited to be launching our pizza range at this year’s expo… the expo is a great chance for us to introduce ourselves, showcase the range and see how we can support operators across the industry”.

Inside the event, a new section with a Welsh ‘street’ will include local retailers. This will see the likes of Llaeth y Llan, local dairy producers, and Village Bakery, a family owned business run by traditional bakers. Visitors can even experience a live cook off as butchers Brongain Farm demonstrate their speciality on how to prepare and cook some of the finest cuts of Welsh beef.
