Since 1988, the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) has been supporting people with disability and sensory impairment, whilst also supporting their families during this period in the heart of North Wales.
The Disability Resource Centre is a one-stop shop for all your mobility support. With the person centred approach at the centre, you will be offered support and advice to find equipment tailored to you.
Location
The centre itself is located adjacent to Glan Clwyd Hospital, where you will find the mobility shop, workshop and main offices. The DRC provides mobility aids, vehicle adaptations, equipment and services for those across the whole of North Wales.
Facilities
A range of services are available at the centre, from mobility aids, hires to sales, installations and vehicle adaptation, ensuring the perfect chair fit for your mobility needs. Searching for a short term rental? The Disability Resource Centre can provide you with the necessary equipment for your short term needs. You may be recovering from a hospital stay or illness, and having a mobility scooter for a short period may be the best viable option for you during recovery, helping you that little bit more.
On site there is an open showroom equipped with a range of mobility scooters. Try before you buy in-store, and find mobility aids and equipment expertly matched for your needs and capabilities. If you’re unable to visit the showroom, a trusted assessor is available to oversee home demonstrations and site assessment services.
Within the home demonstrations, the assessor will get a full understanding of your home and find the best solutions for your living space. These services include mobility aids, walking aids and bath lifts.
Vehicle Adaptation North Wales
With their range of services, the centre also offers a Vehicle Adaption Service, providing a full range of mechanical to complex electronic solutions. Vehicle services available include hand controls, pedal adaptations, seating systems and tail lifts.
Every individual will require services accustomed to their needs, so the DRC ensures quality installations and bespoke vehicle adaptation solutions for your vehicle.
Service and Repair
With specialty trained staff, you are in safe hands with the team at the Disability Resource Centre to help fulfil your required service. If you are in need of a repair, the centre advises a service every 12 months. Systems will include aftercare maintenance and provide you with any parts required for replacement.
As well as selling mobility scooters, products used for eating and drinking are also available to purchase. These include accessories such as adult bibs, anti-spill lids, bendable forks and two handed cups. Thus, providing you with those extra essentials on your days out. Other accessory subjects include bath and shower, health and wellbeing and walking aids. The Disability Resource Centre is available for all your necessary equipment.
