Festival Season is upon us! You know what that means! Get yourself a tent, a crate of cider, your coolest summer threads and hop in a car with all of your best mates for a weekend of music and revelry!

There’s more music than you can shake a glow-stick at this year, and so we’ve put together this helpful guide to help you navigate the festival season successfully!

Zip Roc Festival

Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda

Everyone knows Zip World as the home of the longest zip wire in Europe, Zip World Titan as well as its incredibly fast counterpart Velocity, well in recent years, the adventure facility has been moving into all areas of life including leisure and music events. ’90s Liverpool Indie legends Cast will be joining Mike Peters of The Alarm for a second Zip Roc festival of the Summer.

As we know the area was an old Welsh mining quarry, held by miners – and it’s ever so fitting that the Penrhyn Choir will also return to perform on the site where it all began a great 130 years after the choir was founded. Food and drink from a wide range of local vendors will be available. Campervan-fans rejoice – there will be an option to pitch a motorhome for the night.

 

Sunnypride

Sunnyvale Caravan Park, Kinmel Bay

June 22nd 2019

 

Sunnyvale Caravan park has decided to run a family fun festival suitable for all. Expect the likes of milkshake and sweet stalls, as well as a lot of fun and games for the whole family.

The evening event, doors open at 6 pm and the live entertainment will start at 7 pm. Carys McElroy will also provide a fantastic tribute act to lady gaga and viva las divas will be hitting the stage – all good fun and tongue in cheek.

Entry is free and open to everyone.

Llangollen International Festival

July 1-7, 2019

 

The Llangollen International Eisteddfod welcomes a huge 4,000 performers and up to 50,000 visitors over the seven day festival period every single year. Singers and dancers from all around the world are invited to take part in over 20 thrilling competitions.

With live music events going on in the evening, you can expect the likes of The Gipsy Kings with their timeless classics Bamboleo and Hotel California, Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues band will also be taking the stage for a dedicated evening of song.

Llanfest at the Eisteddfod

Indie legendary aficionados The Fratellis with tunes like ‘Chelsea Dagger’ and the Coral with ‘In the Morning’ and ‘Dreaming of You’ will be leading the charge into the fray with an entire day of fun and music.

 

 

Castell Beat

Ysgol Y Castell, Rhuddlan

the ever popular family-friendly music festival is back for 2019, it’s celebrating its 8th year, there’s a packed line-up of top local music. The Headline act who will be joined by the Beaumont Brothers, as well as Carys McElroy, Mavmac and many more acts to join them for a day of fantastic music.

 

Access All Eirias – Jess Glynne

Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay

Every year Eirias has some international pop sensation appearing. In the past, we’ve had Elton John, Lionel Ritchie, Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, Olly Murs and Little Mix. This year however we have the British singing sensation Jess Glynne headlining the 2019 Access All Eirias event.

And that’s not including the support!

Special guests Nina Nesbitt, Dusky Grey and more supporting – this is a party not to be missed out on.

 

Underneath the Arches

July 12th, 2019 from 6pm onwards

 

We all recognise the iconic archways of the Ponticyllith aqueduct, well did you know that it’s the home of a music and arts event with a music and light spectacular with a family-friendly atmosphere nestled under the protection of the great arches. It got the award of Best Visitor event under 7.5k at the 2017 North Wales tourism awards, it was also named the second best event in all of Wales. Wowzers!

 

 

Sesiwn Fawr

Dolgellau

July 19th, 20th, and 21st 2019

 

A national musical institution, the big session comes back to Dolgellau for the 17th year in a row. A big weekend full of the biggest and best Welsh and Celtic music against the backdrop of the gorgeous town, it’s a fully professional and immersive experience of a festival with a big difference.

 

If you are a musician you should bring a guitar along, the idea is that anyone who wants to can get stuck in – there’s even a busking stage where you could be busking in front of a crowd!

There’s a full professional line up of great acts also set to perform including Geraint Jarman, Los De Abajo, Calan Candelas and much more.

 

 

 

Llandudno Jazz Festival

July 26th – 28th 2019

 

This brilliant specialist event boasts a great three full days of the very best of UK jazz in a stunning and spectacular setting, gracefully placed on the crowning jewel of the North Wales coast.

Jazz enthusiasts and lovers of music, in general, will enjoy this spectacular show. The biggest and best in UK jazz will be on site offering fans the chance to enjoy the spectacular music.

A completely free family festival located right on the beach front with all music genres and tastes up for grabs. The line-up includes soloist Caz McElroy, along with Chasing Shadows the brilliant folk band The Old Scrotes and not forgetting the Ruby Blues Band who will all perform live on this day.

This fantastic three-day extravaganza features stunning musical acts to suit all across the course of the event. Friday features brilliant tribute acts to suit across the entirety of the event. you can see some really great tributes of the likes of Robbie Williams, Spice Girls, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix, Tom Jones, Whitney Houston, Pink and even Amy Winehouse! The day also includes an all-day kid disco so the little ones can go and have a boogie.

The Good Life Experience

We all want to live a good life. The good life. Well, the good life experience festival is a fantastic weekend of culture, music, food and the great outdoors! once more, this year’s festivities will take place on Gladstone’s farm, on the cusp of North Wales. Expect world-famous chefs cooking over a campfire, there will be some fabulous music, along with poetry and inspirational speakers to really G you up.

If you want to enjoy medieval sporting festivities such a fire walking, leatherworking, some outstanding food and drink you have to attend this. there’s no VIP area or backstage cool area, everyone is out in the open free to go wherever they want.
