The summer holidays are here, and no doubt you’re already starting to wonder how you managed to get through your carefully prepared schedules so quickly. We’ve been there. We know that with children, there’s so much planning you can do, and a month or more’s worth of painstakingly arranged activity can be done in less than two weeks, leaving your children (or grandchildren!) bored and frustrated – far more likely to make your life difficult by acting up. But we’re really rather lucky. We live in a fantastic area. Llandudno in particular has so much for little ones to do. What about going to Bodafon farm park to see all manner of adorable animals? Or turning afternoon tea in Llandudno into a special experience with your children? We explore all manner of things to do in this beautiful seaside town, to keep both children and adults happy.
What can be said. Farmyard animals are adorable. You’ll find the little ones very entertained by the Bodafon Farm Park – a fantastic free attraction unique to Llandudno. Bodafon Farm features the usual farmyard animals. Goats, chickens, pigs, sheep and cows are tried and tested means of keeping the little ones amused. But it has a twist with Longhorn, Glouster and Highland cattle – beautifully big and fluffy bovines which are sweet natured and completely adorable; not to mention ducks, swans and llamas – all allowed to roam free on the farm. For younger children, there’s also an impressive collection of tiny rabbits just waiting to be fed.
When you’ve petted cute animals till your heart’s content (or pining to start your very own farm) and the little ones are hungry, what about afternoon tea? Afternoon tea is a staple in Llandudno, and it’s a lovely experience. Who hasn’t daydreamed when taking afternoon tea of being treated like royalty? Some hotels in Llandudno certainly make you feel that way, whether you have an active imagination or not. Children by their very nature are imaginative though, and with the quality of the Imperial Hotel’s décor, and one of the best places to eat in Llandudno, it’s really not difficult to imagine for children or grown ups to pretend they are royalty. Eating here certainly beats a kid’s meal at Mcdonalds or KFC, put it that way.
