Kayaking in Snowdonia has to be one of the most exhilarating experiences you can have in Wales, especially if you kayak on a gorgeous lake like Llyn Padarn. We love kayaking because it’s a truly unique sport that you’ll never get tired of, and even if you’re just an occasional participant, there are plenty of different options that offer something unique to try out, whether it’s rafting on the river or practising your stand up paddleboarding skills on your own time. We really can’t recommend it enough! Be safe and wear a thermal wetsuit if you are planning o paddleboarding on, or swimming in the chilly Welsh waters.

To experience nature

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or an expert kayaker, our beautiful, natural surroundings are an adventure just waiting to be explored. If you’re just dipping your toes into kayaking, there are plenty of quiet and remote coves to explore. For those looking for something a little more adventurous, take on some of our rivers, like the AfonConwyy. they’re challenging but well worth it. All things considered, we think that kayakers will agree that Snowdonia is one of the UK’s best-kept secrets!

To be active with friends and family

A lot of people wonder why they should learn how to kayak. I think it’s important to remember that while kayaking may seem like a sport, it can also be seen as an activity or even a hobby. It provides you with exercise and an opportunity to enjoy being out on the water, either on your own or with friends and family. Even if you don’t want to compete at a professional level, there are so many benefits to practising kayaking as a sport!

To enjoy the view

This is one of our favourite ways to spend a day. The scenery is beautiful and as we paddle around, we always seem to see some new thing that we hadn’t noticed before; whether it’s an eagle soaring above us or a fish jumping out of the water below us. No matter how many times you visit, there’s always something new to discover. Plus, who doesn’t love feeling like they’re going for a boat ride without ever having to leave dry land?

To try something different on holiday

I’m a sucker for an adrenaline rush. I’d rather be outside, getting dirty and having a good time than sat inside on my phone, even if it’s not particularly nice out. If there’s water involved and you can go fast, then I’m all up for it!

Because it’s brilliant!

If you love your friends and family, enjoy being outdoors and want to challenge yourself, why not give kayaking a go? Snowdonia is a great place to have an adventure. If you’re looking for something that’s fun, affordable and offers plenty of opportunities for you to get together with friends and family whilst enjoying spectacular scenery then a guided kayak trip could be a great idea. Be safe and only kayak within your means – getting lessons if you need them.
