The summer sun might be quite unpredictable this year but the Rhyl Air Show is no doubt going to be as consistently excellent as it usually is when it jets its way to the North Wales coast this weekend.

Now in its sixth edition, Saturday and Sunday are set to fill Rhyl’s skies with plenty of exciting aerial displays and there’s much to enjoy on the ground as well. The Red Arrows will delight as they always do and are all set to celebrate 50 years of action in style. The Air Show will be themed on World War I this year and you’ll be able to enjoy the sight of Spitfires and Hurricanes taking flight too.

How do I get there and where can I see it?
Car
Find your way to the A55 expressway and navigate your way towards signs for Conwy, looking for signs to Rhyl. If you can find your way towards the town centre, there will be signage everywhere to tell you where to go.
Rail
Rhyl has its own station which is just a 5 minute walk away from the town centre. Be sure to consult thetrainline.com for the times you need, though it is a relatively busy destination.
Bus
Again, Rhyl has its own station and there are many buses which embark and arrive at it. Check www.arrivabus.co.uk for further information.
Once you arrive in town, make you way to the promenade. The large area spans from the amphitheatre and past the lifeboat station, look for the VUE cinema or Seaquarium if you would like to go off of landmarks.
How much does it cost?
This is the best bit. It’s completely FREE. Bring the family along for a fantastic weekend on the gorgeous North Wales coast and leave knowing that you’ve grabbed the opportunity to see historic planes in action for maybe the last time. You won’t regret it.
