I’m a Celebrity has released a new trailer for this year’s series of the show – and it mentions the longest place name in Europe; Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
The advert show’s the presenters of I’m a Celeb, Ant and Dec, in yellow raincoats. Some people believe that this is a reference to the popular Welsh drama ‘Keeping Faith’, as the main character in the show (played by Eve Myles) famously wore a yellow raincoat – and it has been synonymous with the country since.
Alternatively, the rain and the raincoats could be a reference to the widespread perception that it is always raining in Wales – which isn’t factually correct, although it does feel like it sometimes.
The presenters are still on the hunt for the new camp in the new trailer. In the previous trailer, they were to have accidentally got dropped off by a taxi in South Wales. Which caused a stir with the Welsh public as the driver was portrayed with a South-Walian accent even though the camp is in North Wales.

Dec exclaims in the new trailer “well this is the coldest summer in Australia ever”. The weather certainly will be a challenge for the contestant this year. They are swapping the hot and humid jungle for the cold castle walls.
The presents then agree they’re lost, and Dec decides to check their map for directions. Ant overrules this, bringing out his smartphone and asking this for directions instead. The voice from the phone says “Take the first left at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.”
This direction only confuses Ant and Dec further, and they’re shown walking off checking the map again.
Llanfair PG as the locals call it is a small, quiet town on the island of Anglesey. The long name of the town is made up of 58 characters and is the longest place name in Europe. It translates roughly as “St Mary’s Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio near the Red Cave”.
Having the presenters close to here on the trailer shows that they are getting closer to the camp, around 30 miles away in Abergele. This is still quite a trek, however, so we expect there are more trailers to come before they arrive at camp.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will return to our screens next month. Its official start date is yet to be confirmed, however, fans are anticipating the start to be on Sunday the 15th of November.
