In a dynamic and changing world, education must keep pace with the needs of young people in preparing for adult life. At Upton-by-Chester, the vision as a Humanities College and an International School is fine-tuned to deliver an exciting and relevant programme to motivated students.
Year 7s arriving with at the school each year will be major beneficiaries of the newly introduced hall system of pastoral care. It means that the school is split into 5 smaller ones, each with two form groups from each year. Care for students within their hall will be provided by Head of Hall, Assistant Head of Hall and hall mentors.
In addition, there will be a culture of older students looking after younger ones within their hall and there will be hall activities and competitions so that everyone can get involved. Halls have been named after inspirational leaders from round the world who have made a difference to people’s lives and the underlying principles will link in with our vision and ethos as a Humanities College.
