Wirral Walking Festival will soon be returning for 2014. There is only a few months left to get in shape ready for May before the walking Festival kicks off.

The Wirral Peninsula provides a wonderful place for the walking festival with many gorgeous small towns and countryside areas to explore.

People from all over Cheshire join in with the walking festival so if you live nearby you should consider joining in.

The Walking Festival is a popular event in the region and a great way to encourage yourself to get some exercise.

The Walking Festival invites you to explore some of the very best parks, countryside, coast and historical heritage sites to be found in the Wirral.

The festival will take place throughout the month of May, starting on the 1st and ending on the 31st.

There are also walks that go to key areas for spotting wildlife or top places for food and drink.

The full 2014 brochure of walks will soon be available so keep your eyes peeled for updates and then choose form over 100 highly varied walks this May in the Wirral.

There are different walks to suit different activity levels so whether you are walking primarily for health or for sightseeing there will be something perfect for you to enjoy. There are even some walks especially selected for those with limited mobility.

The Wirral Walking Festival aims to encourage people from all over the Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Little Sutton and Cheshire to get satisfaction from walking and to help them discover the natural beauty of their local areas.

One of the best walks you will not want to miss early on in the walking festival is the Birkenhead Park Bat walk and Talk. If you love night time wildlife and learning more about bats then this is definitely the walk for you and it will take place on the 2nd of May.
