The Wirral is a peninsula of land in North West England that sits next to Merseyside which meets the river and looks over the water towards Liverpool. The Wirral is situated above the county of Cheshire and so is ideally placed to be near several great towns and cities with excellent events on all year round.
The Wirral also hosts many of its own charming events and is only a stone’s throw away from the towns of Ellesmere Port and Little Sutton. Both these towns have the advantage of being near the best events from Chester city, Liverpool city and the vibrant towns of the Wirral.
Wirral Farmer’s Market is a massive, regularly held community event attracting visitors from many nearby towns. The Wirral Farmer’s Market compliments many smaller markets held by local towns by bringing all the local producers together at an event where a greater audience can sample the wares.
The Wirral Farmer’s Market was established in 2000 and is growing in popularity all the time. It is a great opportunity to get your hands on the freshest and best local produce around. This event takes place on the second Saturday of every month starting at 9am and rounding up at approximately 1pm but the produce is a big hit and the earlier you arrive the better chance you have of purchasing some delicious items. The market comes with the benefit of free parking. The market has now grown to over 30 stalls exhibiting delicacies and delicious locally sourced food such as meat, fish and even ready meals. There will be cakes, puddings, jams, food inspired from abroad, chocolates and so much more.
The first Wirral market of the month this year, to kick off 2014, will take place on January the 11th and is followed by the Ellesmere Port farmer’s market on the 4th Saturday of the month.
