The Vale of Clwyd Half Marathon is back for another year. This year the highly popular half marathon, set in the rolling Clwyd hills, will take place on Sunday the 7th of December. The race itself will kick off at 10am and we expect there will plenty of participants and spectators as this is such an enjoyable race.
This fantastic race is a great way to get out and about in the beautiful sights of the Vale of Clwyd and get some exercise too. For those near Ruthin, Mold and Denbigh the race route runs very close to you so there is no excuse not to put your name down. Entries are being invited to register right now.
2014 should be an especially pleasant race since, despite taking place in December, we have had such mild weather throughout October and the start of November that participants will experience fairly warm conditions for the time of year if the weather continues this way for winter.
The Half Marathon is part of the Vale of Clwyd Series which makes up several races throughout the year.
This race is a popular one that always draws in plenty of experienced and novice runners because it is a challenging but wonderful scenic route on charming undulating roads.
Participants get to pass through the some really stunning countryside, including the beautiful villages of Llangynhafal, Gellifor, Llanychan and Llanynys, Llandyrnog.
Llandyrog village hosts the start and finish of the race and the race headquarters. If you have registered for the race you should head to the sports pavilion in the centre of the village on the day and be sure to register your arrival that morning between 8-9:45am.
Refreshment stations will be placed every 5km on the race route.
This is a great local sporting event and we encourage everyone to take part this December and support the runners. We have had great feedback from participants from this race last year. They have described it as a great atmosphere and a highly enjoyable route so do not miss out.
