The Ffestiniog Railway in North Wales is celebrating 150 years of  narrow gauge railway, in what will be a period of celebrations beginning on the 3rd May until 6th May 2013.

Here you will get a real insight and narrative into the railway industry and how it has changed over the last 150 years. This special corner of North Wales promises to put on a series of celebrations to remember, with interesting trains, scenic journeys and wonderful shows.

Experience steam as you have never seen before, where you can go and meet characters of the past, witness the wonder at the arrival of steam and watch as they help the story along. This event is not only perfect for the steam enthusiast, but also for all the family, with excellent activities for the children to enjoy. From Friday, through the weekend and onto Monday, there will be a huge array of different events you can take part in.

Features of the weekend are huge, with Friday labelled ‘Preparation Day’, Saturday ‘Horses to England Engines’, Sunday ‘Global Narrow-Gauge Expansion and Monday ‘Ultimate Narrow Gauge – Grand Finale’. See: Steam 150 event for more information.
