The Mount Pleasant Gardens Annual Sculpture Exhibition will soon be returning for 2013.
There is not much time left until the beautiful gardens will be filled with strange and wonderful works of art from various talented artists.
Throughout the month of September the tranquil gardens come alive with unusual and beautiful sculptures hidden among the foliage.
Artists who specialise in sculpture work from all across the UK will be displaying the best of the work in the gardens just for the visitors.
The art of sculpting can encompass many different art forms: glass sculpture, stone sculpture, wood and other materials. Sculpting has a special appeal to art admirers because of its real life, solid nature. Being 4D unlike paintings it can be appreciated in a completely different way. It shows a new face from every angle. The gardens are a perfect place to admire and investigate these elegant wonders. What better place to display sculpture than outside in nature where they become part of the surroundings. Sculptures offer a new perspective on their environment and interact with the room or outdoor environment they inhabit.
Among the artists work displayed will be local sculpting artist Andrew Worthington. Andrew runs sandstone carving workshops at the gardens. Perhaps this event will inspire you to delve into the work of sculpting yourself.
The artist Katie Green also displays her art in Mount Pleasant Gardens. You can discover her 2 dimensional glass mosaic sculptures which work wonderfully in the gardens as they catch the light among the leaves.
You can enjoy the Sculpture Exhibit throughout September and the gardens are open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 5pm.
Mount Pleasant Gardens are an enjoyable day out even without this gorgeous Sculpture Exhibition Event. The gardens span an impressive 10 acres and are home to a huge variety of plants, flowers, trees and ponds all year round. This September the gardens will be running a two for one price offer so you can enjoy the exhibit for a bargain.
An adult ticket for this event is £5 and a child ticket is £1. The Mount Pleasant Gardens are found in the beautiful and tranquil Cheshire countryside near Delamere Forest, a mere 15 minutes from the historic town of Chester. The gardens have a charming display of several traditional mixed gardens.
