Ruthin’s annual flower and country show returns on Saturday 17th August 2013. This traditional family show is very popular and according to records has been running since at least 1899 and it probably dates back much further.
You will find the show in The Farmers Auction on Denbigh Road in Ruthin (LL15 1PB). It is a wonderful day out for the whole family so let’s hope for good weather. The Ruthin annual show is absolutely packed with activities and there is free parking so it should be very busy with people coming from all around to enjoy the day.
A new honey class and competition is coming to the show for 2013. Every year there is a parade and tractor that runs through the town of Ruthin, which is hugely entertaining for all.
The show will be overflowing with stalls, exhibitions and activities but if you get warn out there is a beauty and well being zone for your relaxation therapy. There will be numerous exciting competitions including the Shire horse competition, the tractor competition and the car competition.
There are special classes especially for the children and they will be highly entertained by the bouncy castle and rides. Food stalls will be abundant with delicious local delicacies for when the entertainment creates an appetite. If you love your pets you can enter them in a variety of pet shows. There is even one for hamsters! The woodland trust will put on a number of activities to educate people about the importance of local nature and wildlife.
That is only a small number of the many activities and exhibitions taking place. There will be bird of prey demonstrations, floral art demonstrations, archery and a choir performing for the day.
There will be plenty of exhibits to view such as horticultural exhibits, visual art and lots of plants and flowers.
