Ellesmere Port’s Waterways Museum is run by the National Canal Trust and protects the history and landscape of the canals that run through the area.
Throughout the year a whole host of fascinating and fun events take place at the museum with everything from educational talks and craft fayres to beer and music festivals.
This November is shaping up to be an exciting month at the Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port with a selection of events to suit every taste.
It all kicks off on the 8th of November with an unusual and creative new event; the Going Digital Photography Workshops. These workshops are designed to be suitable for complete beginners to photography. They will help you get to grips with your cameras in a number of workshops covering different aspects of photography. The first is entitled Get Off Auto and does exactly what is says on the tin, teaches you how to use your camera properly off auto and unlock its full potential.
The workshops are small and normally about 8 pupils covering a mixture of classroom theory and hands-on practice. The workshop classes are £75 contact 07958 007004 for more information.
The Waterways Craft Group is back on November 16th leading embroidery, bonnet making and much more.
On the 18th November there will be First World War themed talks and lectures taking place at the museum, entry is £3 and on the 21st of November there will be talks on the canals and their roles in the 1920s and 30s. This is a free lecture starting at 7:30pm.
Finally the 29th November will bring us the start of the Christmas season so what better time to host the annual Christmas market at the Ellesmere Port Waterways Museum. From the 29th-30th November from 11am-4pm seasonal crafters selling their wares at the museum, a good opportunity to buy some gifts.
