Everyone in the region is gearing up for Liverpool’s Irish Festival 2013. Crowds will be flocking from Little Sutton, Merseyside, the Wirral and Cheshire for this fantastic annual festival celebrating the links between Liverpool city and Ireland. There is a long history between Ireland and Liverpool city and both have brought a wonderful mix of cultures to the area.
From Thursday the 10th of October until Sunday the 20th of October you can enjoy an exploration of all things Irish in Liverpool. It is an explosion of traditional Irish and Liverpudlian art and culture in October.
You can experience the best of music, drama, art, comedy and film all in keeping with the Irish theme. There will also be many educational talks and walks around the city and the events will take place in a huge variety of venues.
Absolutely everywhere you go throughout the city will be near some marvellous display, exhibition or ensemble depicting the relationship between Liverpool and Ireland and delving into their historical connections.
Concert halls, pubs, clubs, museums and galleries will all be hosting fabulous Irish events. There are not many days left to buy your bargain tickets. Bargain tickets give you access to multiple events at great prices through the festival week but they are on a first come first serve basis and only available for a limited time.
Music is the main focus in the Liverpool Irish Festival. Every year over 100 musicians from Ireland and Liverpool come to perform for the crowds in this themed music and arts festival. We all know that Liverpool has a vibrant music scene and this is a not to be missed event. Liverpool has excellent transport links with the Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire so there is no excuse to miss this event.
There is a big schedule lined up of events and music for the Irish Festival including Family Day at the Museum of Liverpool on the 12th of October and you can expect many additional events popping up around the city as local bars and shops get in on the Irish action. If you need to warm up for the Irish week then head to the Festival Tune Up on Sunday the 6th of October in Shenanigan’s Bar on Tithebarn Street. There will be traditional Irish dancing and comedy from 1pm onwards to get you in the mood for Liverpool Irish Festival.
