Chester Zoo is one of Cheshire and the North West’s most popular tourist attractions. It is also one of the most successful and popular zoos even beating London zoo in visitors last year.

If you are looking for great winter events in Cheshire Chester Zoo has you covered.
The annual Lantern Magic event is back at the zoo this winter 2014.

This is a great opportunity to experience the zoo when it is usually closed to visitors. Experience the sounds and behaviours of the animals at night, which for many of the species is their most active time. Be able to get more familiar with the nocturnal species and see a whole new side of Chester Zoo. Enjoy the fruit bat forest and the elephant house at night!

Lantern Magic invites you to partake in the wonderful lantern making workshop and then traverse our lantern illuminated pathways to our fabulous animal lantern displays. Chester Zoo have even added some new animal lanterns this year so keep an eye out for them.

While you are enjoying the lantern parade be sure to visit Santa and the famous wishing tree too.
There are tasty, treats, drinks and a festive supper on offer.

Lantern Magic is available to book from the 4th of December 2014 to the 23rd of December but we recommend you book in advance as Lantern Magic proves very popular every year and tickets are snapped up quickly. Several days in December have already been sold out and there are a few tickets left on other days so hurry.

Lantern Magic will be held in the zoo between 4pm and 8pm.
