For those lucky enough to be near Merseyside or the Wirral this winter you are in for a treat as one of the best seasonal events is coming up near you. Liverpool city is only a short drive from Merseyside and the Wirral and Liverpool One is one of the easiest places to get to. As it is just the other side of the Mersey tunnels it is only a quick trip to all its great shopping facilities.
This winter Liverpool One brings you much more than shopping. It has a magical experience in store for everyone with its Ice Festival.
Chavasse Park is located on the roof of Liverpool One and here you find the ‘urban ice experience’ in the form of a delightful covered ice rink. Skaters are invited to come and enjoy themselves rain or shine on this pristine ice. If you fall over too many times you can recover in the adjacent Ice bar or Après bar if you are feeling the chill and need something warmer. There are also plenty of fairground rides for the kids and 2014 welcomes back the real ice slide! This is the UK’s only ice slide and is suitable for adults and children. It consists of 30m of ice runs.
The Ice Festival is open from the Friday the 7th of November to Sunday the 4th of January so you can see the Ice Festival any time this winter. It is a great activity to fill in the slow days after Christmas.
Adult tickets at peak times on the ice rink are £9.95 with a £5 hire for skates. The ice slide costs £4.50.
Opening times for the ice festival are: Sunday-Thursday 11am-8pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-9pm, closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are 11am-6pm.
