June sees preparations for Cheshire’s County Show well underway.
2013’s Cheshire Show will take place on June 18th-19th. It is set to be a massive and impressive display of agricultural excellence. There will be all kinds of entertainment for all attending. It is not to be missed with all its varied activities and competitions.
The Cheshire show has been taking place for nearly 200 years and the county has a proud history of farming. They know very well how to put on a great county show!
The Cheshire Agricultural society runs the show and this year it celebrates its 175th anniversary.
80,000 people attended the show last year so the turnout is expected to be huge judging by its popularity.
This year Cheshire is honoured to have Princess Anne as the president for the County Show.
There is so much to do and see at the Cheshire county show with the Countryside Experience Area demonstrating Falconry, Ferreting and a pack of hounds. Come and take part!
There is also much to eat at the Cheshire County Show with more than a hundred local and national food producers displaying and selling their delicacies in the Roberts Speciality Food Hall throughout the show. There will be even more to eat this year with the cheese competition featuring 100 of the best cheeses from across Britain and backed by Booths supermarket. There will even be extraordinary live cooking demonstrations in the Speciality Food Theatre with food experts, including:

Beautiful floral art displays are on offer at the show with the National Association of flower arrangements and this year’s theme is ‘A World of Change’.
The Sainsbury’s Agri Centre will encourage local people to keep interested in farming methods by facilitating members of Cheshire’s farming community performing demonstrations on how to get milk, cheese, meat etc from the farm to the supermarket. It is important to know where your food comes from.
Some less quaint events will be happening such as a motor cycle display in the main ring by Matt Coulter.
Live music will be played throughout the weekend of the county show.
Naturally the main and most important attraction of the Cheshire County show are the animals. Livestock competitions, horse competitions and dog competitions will be the highlight of the June weekend.
