Whether Organic Wine or just regular wine, it’s been setting records for years.
We decided to collate a list of some of the most astounding world records specific to wine that the world has ever seen. Some truly ingenious records have been set and indeed broken in recent years.
Most glasses held in a hand.
The world record for most wine glasses held in one hand was 39 glasses by Reymond Adina at the Quatre Gats Restaurant in Barcelona, Spain on the 24th of October in 2007.
The number of glasses a waiter can hold is a matter of pride amongst the service. Barcelona is a matter of pride for the Catalan Waiters – so it’s no wonder that the record is held by one of these proud folks. They have been training to carry dozens of glasses without breaking them.
Largest Collection of Wine Labels.
Sophia Vaharis from the Greek capital of Athens enjoys collecting her wine labels. In fact, she has 15,200 different labels from wine bottles of about 50 different wine-producing countries. Kalós!!
Most people treading grapes
The world record for the largest number of people treading on grapes as you would to produce wine is 977, this was achieved in September 2010 in Labastida which is a village located in Basque Country in the North of Spain.
In the afternoon there was a grand total of 27,56 tonnes of black grapes carried by a truck, tipping into the town square. This soon became a black pool of squashy grapes! Bet this was a fun day!
World Largest Wine Flute.
Ukraine might not be as famous for wine as places in Western Europe, Australia or America, but it was in this Slavic EU nation that the largest Wine Flute was produced and then filled with a staggering 75 bottles of sparkling white wine. This wine glass was a staggering 4ft.5 inches tall, with a 21.2-inch base and 12.6 inches across the win and at the widest section of the bowl, 16.5 inches. This was filled with the finest Crimean Champagne. Bet it was a bit of a job to polish that glass off, with a heck of a hangover the next day – might we recommend natural wine next time?

Organic wines are considered a natural alternative to the artificially enhanced wine which may contain plenty of sulphites there is still a school of thought which believes that wines should be kept natural which are created with 100 percent natural means. Too often now are wines filled with flavour enhancing sulphites then there are with not good for health, in fact it is thought that these sulphites increase the risk of having a hangover. Many people are found to be allergic to sulphites and thus the following day from drinking this find themselves with adverse effects. If you suffer from hangovers why not try out organic wine.
