What better than to explore North Wales’ wonderful waterfalls on your next holiday. Not only can you escape your everyday life stresses by taking a moment to take in the beauty of a truly tranquil waterfall, but you can also do a bit of exploring or even enjoy a delicious homemade picnic.

North Wales is littered with amazing waterfalls, so let us talk you through some of our favourites.

Pistyll Rhaeadr

It would be rude not to visit one of the seven wonders in Wales now wouldn’t it? This waterfall is the tallest single-drop waterfall in Britain and is a sure head turner. Some people who visit even say that they find instant peace when visiting, just what you need if you lead a busy lifestyle. Just a short drive from holiday parks Bala, seeing the waterfall is easy and even has parking access too. There is a small café on site that sells everything from ice cream to Sunday lunch. So, after a busy day exploring, take the weight off and have a bite to eat whilst taking in the waterfall’s beauty.

Aber Falls

Aber Falls is situated south of the small village of Abergwyngregyn. Before getting to the falls you will be able to experience the beautiful Coedydd Aber National Nature Reserve that really gets you prepared for the spectacle as you go further. The falls welcomes around 50,000 visitors a year and should be at the top of your waterfalls to visit when in North Wales. Some people prefer to drive up to the falls and park in one of the two car parks, which is great for those who have reduced mobility. If you do decide to park up rather than take a walk from the village, make sure you have some loose change on you to pay the £3 parking fee.

Dyserth Waterfall

This waterfall, is more lowkey than the previous two but still as impressive. The waterfall is situated in close proximity of pubs, restaurants and even an ice cream parlour, making a day out with the family a little bit easier if you’re not up for a hike. Although if you are, there’s nothing stopping you. There are walking paths that take you past the waterfall and above it. A great place for a dog walk or a picnic on sunnier days. If you’re lucky you may even catch a duck race which happens regularly on a bank holiday.

Ceynant Mawr Waterfall

This whimsical waterfall will be sure to leave you feeling in awe. Photos simply do not do this waterfall justice and it’s one that you will have to experience for yourself. Whilst you’re there see if you can catch a glimpse of the regular passing steam train which makes the whole experience even more idyllic. Make sure whilst you are there to take the walking paths that lead you to the top and bottom of the waterfall, allowing you to explore it in its entirety.
