Waverley Paddle SteamerResidents and tourists in the ‘Queen of Welsh Resorts’ have been delighted to see the return of the M V Balmoral in Llandudno this summer after a 10 year absence!

The iconic steamer was first built in 1947 and is a key piece of cruising history. It has twin diesel engines and can reach 16 knots. It offers a wonderful cruising experience and a stunning sight so we are thrilled for its return in North Wales.

MV Balmoral is now owned by the Bristol-based MV Balmoral Fund Ltd after being acquired from the Waverley Steam Navigation Ltd – operators of the paddle-steamer Waverley – in January.

The Balmoral offers some outstanding views of the magnificent Snowdonia range as she cruises along the North Wales coast.

Last year the Waverley Paddle Steamer, the world’s last surviving paddle steamer also returned to North Wales after an eight year absence so fans of these charming boats have been very excited by the recent return of both these impressive vessels. It is one more incredible attraction for Llandudno and another reason to visit this famous seaside town.

Our beautiful and renowned Pier’s Landing Stage was recently refurbished to enable sailings to return to Llandudno and it has been a huge success.

If you missed the Balmoral and Paddle Steamer’s return do not fret as there will be more chances to take a cruise on them this September!

In celebration of the return of the Balmoral and paddle steamer local Llandudno Hotel, The Cae Mor are offering a limited choice of 2 special breaks including sailings on the romantic pleasure boat and paddle steamer in September 2015.
