For attractions within North Wales, it doesn’t get much bigger, or much better than Zip World.
For those uninformed, Zip World is the name of many sites across North Wales which offer fantastic fun experiences for you and the family. From high-speed ziplining to bouncing below ground (and so very many activities inbetween!) Zip World attractions promise some of the most fun adventure activities in North Wales, and have very much put the region on the map for adventure holidays – with a regular clientele of young, old, regular and famous zippers ready and raring to try it out for themselves.
But where’s the best place to stay for a Zip World experience? There are quite a few accommodation providers throughout North Wales (as well as rumours that Zip World themselves are starting to look into the idea of launching a hotel) but there’s one that stands out thanks to it’s wonderful location, excellent staff and last but not least, the fact that it offers fantastic stays in it’s own right – and should your Zip World experience be cancelled or postponed, that their fantastic staff will be more than happy to rearrange your stay at no extra fee.
Ogwen Bank Holiday Park and Country Club is the best place to enjoy Glamping Snowdonia with their fantastic S-Pods – with a variety of features which allows you to experience all the best of a luxury holiday on a compact basis (and without a single tent in sight!), as well as their varied assortment of luxury caravans and lodges for sale in Snowdonia , right by the riverside at Ogwen Bank.
Ogwen Bank is central to a number of Zip World attractions throughout North Wales, and we’re certain that no matter the attraction, you’ll find a wonderful experience with this high-end caravan park in North Wales. We’ve put together a small list to help you on your travels.
Zip World Velocity – Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda
Distance from Ogwen Bank: Less than 5 minutes!
Zip World Velocity has repurposed the Quarry next to Ogwen Bank Holiday Park and Country Club and transformed it from a relic of the industrial age into the definitive place for adrenaline-seeking zippers from all around the UK. Zip World Velocity is the fastest zip line in the world, and the very longest in Europe, and will allow you to experience the Quarry Tour, the Little Zipper, and of course the Big Zipper.
Zip World Slate Caverns – Blenau Ffestiniog
Distance from Ogwen Bank: 43 minutes
Only a short car journey away from Ogwen Bank, the Llechwedd Slate Quarry is another example of a fine Welsh resource being repurposed for usage after the 1960s saw a lesser demand for Welsh slate and Llechwedd turned the caverns into a tourist attraction with a Deep Mine tour, cafes, and a slate workshop. More recently, Zip World has created Bounce Below and the Caverns, which ensure weatherproof entertainment underground. Furthermore, Zip World Titan and its three lines awaits above ground for family zips.
Zip World Fforest – Betws y Coed
Distance from Ogwen Bank: 26 minutes
Less than a hop, skip and a jump away from Ogwen Bank is Zip World Fforest, the most child-friendly of all three Zip World locations. Within, you’ll be able to explore the treetops with Safari, and Treetop Nets is geared toward any and all, aged 3 and up. There’s also the Plummet parachute simulator and Skyride – which will catapult you upward in a 5-seater swing. Don’t forget about Tree Hoppers for the little ones!
Regardless of how you decide to enjoy your Zip World adventure, Ogwen Bank Holiday Park and Country Club is the perfect base for all of your adventures. Glamping in Snowdonia near Zip world has never been easier!
