Once the turbulent green wild-lands of the Welsh Princes, turned Victorian Holiday makers paradise, and now – the adrenaline capital of Britain. The wide-open spaces and staggering views are too inviting and so it’s no wonder that so many people from all over the United Kingdom pack up and head to North Wales over the Summer months. Of-course over the years this verdant wonderland has become a mecca for lovers of music, merriment and camping – introducing The Music Festival…

Llandudno Jazz Festival
Woah, woah do not worry – just because we’re talking about music festivals doesn’t mean you need to get the glow-sticks out, UV Paint on and hit the rave to skank the night away – if you’re just in for some appreciation of brilliantly crafted jazz music, maybe have a couple of craft ales in the sun next to an electric heater. Well, we reckon you should check out the Llandudno Jazz Festival – this area is world famous as ‘The Queen of Victorian Resorts’, undoubtedly the classic white Victorian seafront coupled with the serene sparkle of the Irish sea and the mighty Great Orme overlooking the land is the ideal backdrop for a weekend of Jazz and chillout time.

Electric Wave Festival
The electric wave festival is the brainchild of the team behind Wakestock, Glass Butter Beach and the awesome organisers at the United Kingdoms’ premiere surfing destination. This means that the sickest DJs, along with the most righteous of UK bands are set to plan a multitude of stages alongside the huge inland surf lagoon which surfers will be happy to ride the turbulence of.

Gin and Prosecco
Not only this, but the Surf Snowdonia dudes clearly have a clever cookie in charge of marketing and events organisation, capitalising on the current Gin-mania and Prosecco-thusiam which has gripped the nation. They’ve partnered up with Aber Falls Gin Company to offer some local gin and beverages to surf and booze fans alike, pop by for a ride and a refreshment.

Green Man Festival
This is a jaunt further South then you may be used to, however Green Man Festival is centered on the Glanusk estate in the town of Crickhowell hidden amid the Brecon Beacons’ Black Mountains. This year Psychedelic Progressive Folk Experimental band King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard are headlining alongside The War on Drugs, Fleet Foxes and John Grant with appearances from The Brian Jonestown Massacre and more awesome musicians and acts.

Festival Number 6
It’s funny – the plot of 1960’s TV show the prisoner has the central protagonist ‘Prisoner Number 6’ trying to escape the picturesque Italianate village of Portmeirion, however these days scores of people are trying to get in! Fest No 6 has become the hottest festival on the block, thanks in part o its unbelievable location and the organiser’s ability to securer some world class headliners. NorthWales.com has been lucky enough to have been invited by the organisers to review Festival Number 6 on two occasions.

Have you ever seen thousands of people raving across 4 stages in a 15th century Welsh Castle? Nope? Neither have we – and that’s why we’re really intrigued to see how North Wales’ Su Casa Festival will turn out. Now Su Casa has been taking place for a great number of years now, with small and larger scale events taking place in the region with an ever growing loyal fanbase of supporters, the team is fulfilling the demand for a dance music festival.
