We’ve all been there. Most likely all of us can bring to mind a particular restaurant they’ve been thrilled about visiting, reserved a table, spent some time in trepidation while anticipating all manner of culinary delights and right away seen a not so favourable Food Standards Agency (FSA) rating in the window of said establishment and all delight has turned into dread.
Some of us have even turned back and found somewhere else to eat because after all, who wants to eat somewhere where basic hygiene standards are not met? We’re delighted to unveil our list of restaurants in Llandudno with a 5 FSA rating, giving you all confidence in where you eat.
1- The Terrace at the St Tudno Hotel, Llandudno
St Tudno Hotel has an excellent reputation with locals and tourists, and is truly one of the most appealing seafront hotels in Llandudno. With innumerable rewards in all manner of things, this wonderfully charming hotel boasts a stylish restaurant which is in the Michelin Choice Guide.
We think it’s the best restaurant in Llandudno, and it’s really not difficult to see why.
2- The Queen’s Head, Glanwydden
A short drive away from the town centre and possessing of perhaps the very best restaurant in Llandudno, the Queen’s Head is a hotly tipped culinary destination with daily specials, seasonal menus, and some very, very good food. Winners of the AA Pub of the year twice-over, this cosy destination is part of any discerning foodie’s bucketlist.
3- The Cae Mor Hotel, Llandudno
With so many hotels in Llandudno making the list, we found the Cae Mor too good to not put in. This hotel right next to Venue Cymru opens early on show nights to offer the Early Bird Menu – hearty, unpretentious but good quality food at great prices, served in a timely manner. Great parking options, as well.
4- The Groes Inn, Tyn y Groes
Quite out of the way, the Groes Inn offers absolute quality to all those that enter, and is suitable for formal dining with its Dining Room as well as informal with its cosy pub. Attention to detail is stellar at the Groes Inn, and while Tyn y Groes is a little out of the way, it’s more than worth the trip. A very highly rated restaurant in Conwy, and rightly so.
5- Lle Hari at the Meadowsweet Hotel
Lle Hari is something very special, and features a stunning Hotel in Llanrwst to boot. Lle Hari fuses American and Welsh cooking, and is highly recommended. This wonderful little restaurant is small, intimate, and has some absolutely excellent décor as well as the biggest gourmet burgers we’ve ever seen.
