The Fast Growth 50 is an award that aims to highlight the 50 fastest growing businesses throughout Wales and has quickly become an award that businesses aspire towards with 2017 seeing the highest number of entries to date. The list is compiled by Dylan Jones-Evans who created the awards in 1999, with an OBE for serving on the Business Advisory Panel for the Secretary of State for Wales and a range of other business accomplishments; he is definitely certified for the role.
Named as the 18th fastest growing business in Wales, the Tir Prince Leisure Group is a staple in the North Wales leisure and entertainment industry. The group includes Llandudno Pier, The Paddocks Luxury Caravan Park, the Fun Factory Family Entertainment Centres and Tir Prince Raceway which started off as a derelict piece of land. From small beginnings to amazing achievements, the group have seen a turnover increase of 170% over the past 4 years.
The Tir Prince Owner Adam Williams has stated that the success and growth of the company is down to the staff, from part time-staff to full-time management, everyone’s contribution has made the company what it is. He has also indicated that the company have more projects lined up for the future, hoping that the company can continue on their successful track. It is clear to see that the group have a strong commitment to growing the entertainment and leisure industry throughout North Wales, creating enjoyable experiences for both locals and tourists.
2017 saw Tir Prince opening The Paddocks Luxury Caravan Park which offers unique accommodation in the beautiful North Wales countryside. With beaches, shops, restaurants and more on your doorstep, the park has everything you need take a break and unwind. The group also purchased Llandudno Pier which has had dedicated and continual maintenance to ensure that it remains the much-loved symbol of Llandudno.
The Fast Growth 50 is a brilliant way to ensure that talented Welsh businesses are celebrated; it also poses as an award for other businesses to aspire to. With the combined efforts of the top 50 generating an additional turnover of £18 billion and creating a further 34,000 jobs, it is clear to see the positive effects on the wealth and employability in Wales.
